A BODYBUILDER'S DIARY: 6 WEEKS OUT

By Kristyn Lia

I have put all the negative aspects that creep into my world on hold. I don’t have time for stress or difficult people, in fact I don’t have the energy.

I am 7 weeks out and it is time to focus. EVERYTHING is now comp.

Social media is filled with competitor updates and I am excited by some new friendships I am starting to form. I am excited to meet the girls come stage day, some of my dearest friendships have been made backstage.

My strength and endurance oddly enough are increasing so my coach and I are going to step it up a notch in the gym. Lifting intensity is going up!  Lets hit the stage as big as possible! After a body composition check on the weekend, I know I am already lean enough and anything further is just an improvement on my last package, so now its all about MASS 😊

I am not competing to win a pro card. I am competing because I love it. I am competing because I want to see how good I can get.

There are women who have been training over a decade that will be competing.

They will def have it over me, mass wise. It is not all about conditioning. With the changes to the federation and the international judges, it will be interesting to see if the judging changes and they favour the bigger girls like they do overseas. The day will tell.

All I know is that I am certainly excited for the final countdown and in a more relaxed mental state now that I know my physique is pretty much ready to spray tan!
